FORECLOSURE NUMBERS FOR BRIDGEPORT, CT - FIRST QUARTER 2017

New foreclosures decreased significantly in Bridgeport for the first quarter of 2017- down 37.7% from 371 in the first quarter of 2016. Nonetheless, there were still 231 new foreclosures brought in the first 90 days of 2017, a rate of more than 2.5 new foreclosures in Bridgeport each day. RECORD BRANFORD HOMES LOSS RATES & FORECLOSURES CONTINUE IN FIRST QUARTER 2017

Branford foreclosure rates and homes lost in the first 90 days of 2017 increased over the first quarter of 2016. Following a significant fall in foreclosure rates in Ansonia, CT in 2015, the calendar year 2016 saw a 17% increase in yearly foreclosures with a total of 87 homes entering foreclosure in Ansonia in 2016. Overall, homes lost to foreclosure also increased significantly in 2016 compared to 2015 with a total of 76 homes lost. Foreclosure auctions increased 287% with 62 Ansonia homes sold by foreclosure sale in 2016 – the highest rate in nearly all of the last 5 years.
